For Today -

Outside my window...a beautiful warm fall evening.

I am thinking...I can't believe that tomorrow is November 1st.

I am remembering...how wonderful life has been!

I am wearing...black capris & a melon colored top.

I am creating...a mess right now as I continue to go through things to ready our house for sale.

I am going...to bed earlier tonight. I've had some very late nights with all I've had to do.

I am reading...my Bible.

I am hoping...things slow down a bit.

I am looking forward to...crawling into my bed tonight.

I am hearing...Emily jump rope, & Elliot playing a video game. I love the sounds of childhood!

A blessing counted...a wonderful evening with my family tonight.

From the learning rooms...time passes so quickly - enjoy every single day. This was really brought home to me over the past few days as I went through photos to organize them.

One thing I am praying for...still praying daily for our country & our upcoming election.

From the kitchen...snack of Pink Box donuts (instead of Halloween candy) & coffee with Almond Joy creamer.

A favorite Bible verse..."For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

Words that ring true..."Life doesn't have to be perfect to be wonderful." ~Annette Funicello

Around the house...much to do.

One of my favorite things...listening to Charles Stanley's daily message each day.

One of the things I have planned for the week...shopping for new shoes for Emily.

A peek into my day...a double rainbow pic taken from Diamond Head.

Frustrated!

Saturday    October 29, 2016

I started out with GeoCities when I first began working with a website. Not long afterwards Yahoo acquired them & closed it. Personally, I miss GeoCities - I loved how we had addresses (mine was Heartland Pines). About a year ago, Yahoo became Aabaco for small business websites, & I've had nothing but issues since. It's slow, it signs me out, it takes 'forever' to do anything. I'm still paying too, but for terrible service. The one thing that is really bothering me though, are my photos that I post, & my graphics. I noticed after the change over that the graphics & photos seemed to look grainy & almost blurred. After I uploaded pics the other night, I noticed that the photo looked nothing like what it truly did - it looked distorted - very out of focus. I then went back over old posts, & I knew those photos were very good. Guess what? They looked grainy - blurry. I did some research & found that this is a common problem since it became Aabaco. Apparently, they render the photos & downgrade the quality to save space on the servers. People are not happy, including me. I read over & over how bloggers & small businesses have left for other hosts, just because of the issues. Now I've been pondering if I should try to change to another server too. I'd lose all my old posts though, & there's a lot of memories kept here. It's so frustrating though, to post a very good photo, only to look at it once you post, & see a grainy, blurry pic! Even the colors look off once I post the photo. I've thought about going to blogger, but I'd miss the way I have my blog set up here. Anyone have any good hosts that you'd recommend me checking out? If so, please let me know.

We've been up to our necks in sorting through things - what to keep, what to give to Goodwill, what to sell. We are so looking forward to downsizing, but it's going to be a job! It's not fun when you've worked all day & went through so much, only for it to look like you made no progress at all. We are hoping to have our house up for sale in 3-4 weeks. It's probably not the best time to put a house on the market, but we are anxious to get this going. We've already missed a few houses that we fell in love with, just because we weren't ready to put ours up yet. So probably best that we stop looking until we are in a position to make an offer on something. We've found the neighborhood we want, & the design of the home that we want in that neighborhood. Now to pray & wait until one of them becomes available!

Thankful Thursday

We ask ourselves this every single day. We love you Emily! You are pure sunshine in our lives & in our home!

Way to go Elliot!

Wednesday    October 25, 2016

Big news in the Evans house tonight, & excitement to go along with it! Elliot has been going through tryouts to see if he could get on our church's school basketball team. It's been much harder than he ever thought it would be, & he's discovered muscles that he didn't ever realize he had. Tonight after tryouts, the coach met with each boy, & Elliot made the team! He's walking on cloud nine! Now the real work for him begins!

Emily is as happy as he is, & on the way home she said to me "I wonder if Elliot knows that I'm going to be his biggest cheerleader?" Just hearing her say that, put a smile in my heart as well as on my face.

I have a fall sigtag for anyone that wants one - link is to the left. Let me know in a tag, your color of hair & eyes.

The Passing of Time

Tuesday    October 24, 2016

You know when you were a child & it seemed like the days lasted forever? Summer seemed to be months longer than it truly was? From one Christmas to the next, seemed to take 'forever'. I miss those days in which it seemed that the hands of time went around at a much slower pace. Time seems to fly by now, & when I look at these two sweet beings that God has blessed us with, there is no denying it...the years are passing as quickly as sand passes through hands. This sweet boy is quickly becoming a young man. And what a sweet young man he is! All 5'11" of him! I look at him, & cannot believe that the years have went by so quickly.

Our sweet Emily. A little girl with a heart of gold. One that wants to do right above all else. She cares, feels, & loves deeply. A little girl that still takes her stuffed little friend 'everywhere' she goes. I hope she carries Lilly awhile longer, because when the day comes that she finally sets her aside, it will be just another reminder that time passes way too quickly. Another page turned in the way too short book of childhood.

For Today -

Outside my window...a rainy fall evening! Loving this cooler feel in the air tonight after an 85F day.

I am wearing...Mickey Mouse pj's.

I am creating...a more organized school schedule for Elliot & Emily.

I am going...to continue working on things to get our house ready to sell. We're hoping to have it ready in the next few weeks.

I am hoping...our house sells quickly once we put it up for sale.

I am looking forward to...downsizing to a smaller home.

I am hearing...Emily watching 'The Brady Bunch'.

A blessing counted...finally getting back to my blog!

From the learning rooms...God is always faithful!

One thing I am praying for...our country & our upcoming election.

From the kitchen...we ate out for lunch & dinner today, so not much happened in there today.

A favorite Bible verse..."Delight thyself in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart." Psalm 37:4

Words that ring true..."Ask yourself what is really important, & then have the courage to build your life around your answer."

Around the house...busy, busy, busy, as we ready our home for sale. Hard work, but the ending will be worth it all.

One of my favorite things...coffee with Almond Joy creamer.

One of the things I have planned for the week...packing more boxes.

A peek into my day...one of the pics I took when we were in Hawaii this month - a view from our hike on Diamond Head.
