Teach Me To Pray
You taught me how to patty-cake,
And simple words to say.
You sang to me sweet lullabies,
Now teach me Mom, to pray.
You taught me how to tie my shoes.
You taught me how to play.
You taught me manners when I eat.
Now, teach me Mom, to pray.
You taught me how to count the stars,
And make my bed okay.
You taught me, oh so many things,
Now, teach me Mom, to pray.
Of all the things you did for me,
Throughout the many years:
You tied my shoes, you baked me cakes,
You dried away my tears.
Of all the many little things,
I learned along the way,
For this one thing I'm thankful most ~
You taught me Mom, to pray!
